The exhibition Johann Strauss – New Dimensions sets new standards in the world of immersive experiences. The exhibition combines augmented reality, spatial audio, and innovative technologies to create an individual visitor experience. Depending on position and viewing direction, all visitors receive a unique experience.

Media Apparat was responsible for the entire planning and creative direction of the museum. From the first pitch presentations through several concept and prototyping phases, in which a 75-minute multimedia show and dramaturgy were developed, to branding and communication design.

400m² 3D Mapping and Spatial Audio

Multisensory Experience with Historical Depth

Through the collaboration of European sound design experts and the ensemble of the Vienna Schönbrunn Orchestra, Strauss's works were deconstructed and shaped with digital technologies into a three-dimensional soundscape. A highlight is one of the largest 3D mappings in Europe: over 400 m² of projection surface.

History Meets Emotion

Unlike conventional exhibitions, New Dimensions combines exciting narrative structures with historical depth. A dramaturgically constructed audio guide leads visitors through Strauss's life and provides deep insights, supported by AI-deciphered original documents.

Past and Present United

The exhibition presents Johann Strauss as the first "popstar" in history. With modern typography, animations, and faithfully reproduced settings, the Viennese ball culture of the 19th century is brought to life for visitors of all ages.
