"Experience Design" as a Credo

Pioneers is an exclusive event with approx. 3,000 attendees at the Vienna Hofburg, which places new technologies and start-ups at the centre and aims to attract the best thought leaders, innovators, start-ups, and investors from home and abroad. It was therefore necessary to create a new event format.

Technology as an Integral Component

Since the predecessor – the "Startup Week" 2011, Media Apparat has accompanied the annually held Pioneers. We had the opportunity to significantly shape an event from the very beginning. Holistically, the annual motto of the event is implemented across all elements of the conference.

"Experience Design" – the experience of visitors from entering the conference to leaving it – is our credo. Means of achieving total immersion and storytelling include lighting design, stage design, spatial design, decoration, as well as the dramaturgy on stage.

Award-Winning Events

A conference in "festival style" – especially in the beginning, this was a worldwide innovation – was infused with the latest technologies. The concept was further developed and adapted annually, which led us to plan increasingly spectacular stages and stage shows each year.

We brought various robot characters to the stage, worked with drones, produced shows with tracking suits, and also engaged with artificial intelligence. The tasks ranged from the world premiere of the first flying car, through 360° live streams, to virtual reality experiences.

Content Partnership

In addition to the conception and creation of content for the festival, Media Apparat also produced numerous TV spots, aftermovies, and interview formats for Pioneers' owned & operated channels.
